As Halloween festivities drew to their conclusion, and fans packed into the dark basement of Manchester’s YES, Sasami Ashworth adorned the stage to grace fans with a performance packed with excellence.
Performing recently released singles, “Slugger” and “Honeycrash” from her upcoming album, “Blood on the Silver Screen”, as well as unheard tracks, the audience received a taste of what is next to come in Sasami’s diverse catalogue of work – the genre bender taking influences from ballad, metal, synthpop and punk.
Although the entire show engaged and surprised concertgoers, some hailing from up and down the UK, the crowd was most engrossed by Sasami’s eclectic instrument selection – the French Horn. The silver-toned brass instrument would have initially seemed more fitting in a classical orchestral arrangement, but alongside the heavy and dark beats of Sasami’s intense live production, everyone was amazed.
It was something truly magical.
Touring with Destroy Boys throughout the US in November, Sasami’s “Blood on the Silver Screen” is out March 7th through Domino Records.
